History Channel Documentary,

The Great Moghul heads ruled India for two centuries from 1526, when Babur caught Delhi until the demise of Aurangzeb in 1707. In the middle of were Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir and Shahjahan (renowned for building the Taj Mahal) and a short time later some lesser rulers, who came to loot the treasury and show-stoppers, the remainder of whom was at last asked to leave for good by the British in 1858.

The Moghuls were Persian sovereigns slid from Genghis Khan and their ways of life were, no doubt, luxurious. They fabricated phenomenal royal residences, mosques and tombs, a number of which stay as national landmarks in India today.

In spite of being Muslim, the Moghuls were tolerant of the nearby religions and traditions which they upheld eagerly.
